Last Swim Before Checkout Original Sketch

This is the original sketch for "Last Swim Before Checkout". It's interesting to see the differences between this sketch and where the final painting ended up!

The late-night party is over and checkout is at 11. Might as well get in one more swim before heading home!

My inspiration for this piece was Palm Springs, CA. We vacationed there for a few days and stayed at a classic, single-story hotel with a pool right in the middle! It's one of my favorite towns and I can't wait to go back.

Our birds have a little time to relax here, and one of them has even met up with a beautiful swan that he saw the night before!

This sketch was drawn with Prismacolor col-erase pencils on 10 frame animation paper. It is not matted or framed.

Final size is 9 1/4" x 10 5/8".
